A Resolution Rank Criterion for Supersaturated Designs

چکیده
Hadamard matrices are found to be useful in constructing supersaturated designs. In this paper, we study a special form of supersaturated designs using Hadamard matrices. Properties of such a supersaturated design are discussed. It is shown that the popular E(s) criterion is in general inadequate to measure the goodness of a supersaturated design. A new criterion based upon the projection property, called resolution rank (r-rank), is proposed. Furthermore, an upper bound for r-rank is given for practical use.

Generalized Resolution and Minimum Aberration for Nonregular Fractional Factorial Designs
Seeking the optimal design with a given number of runs is a main problem in fractional factorial designs(FFDs). Resolution of a design is the most widely usage criterion, which is introduced by Box and Hunter(1961), used to be employed to regular FFDs. The resolution criterion is extended to non-regular FFG, called the generalized resolution criterion. This criterion is providing the idea of ge...
متن کاملConstruction of Optimal Multi-Level Supersaturated Designs
A supersaturated design is a design whose run size is not large enough for estimating all the main effects. The goodness of multi-level supersaturated designs can be judged by the generalized minimum aberration criterion proposed by Xu and Wu [Ann. Statist. 29 (2001) 1066–1077]. A new lower bound is derived and general construction methods are proposed for multi-level supersaturated designs. In...
متن کاملMinimal Dependent Sets for Evaluating Supersaturated Designs
This paper investigates minimal dependent sets used for evaluating supersaturated designs. Unlike the popular E(s) criterion, the criteria based on minimal dependent sets directly capture the properties of designs in terms of estimation and identification of active factors. This paper provides a theoretical investigation into the number and structure of minimal dependent sets in a supersaturate...
متن کاملCONNECTIONS BETWEEN UNIFORMITY AND E(s)-OPTIMALITY IN 2-LEVEL SUPERSATURATED DESIGNS
Abstract. Supersaturated experimental designs are often assessed by the E(s) criterion, and some methods have been found for constructing E(s)optimal designs. Another criterion for assessing experimental designs is discrepancy, of which there are several different kinds. The discrepancy measures how much the empirical distribution of the design points deviate from the uniform distribution. Here...
متن کاملMinimum Moment Aberration for Nonregular Designs and Supersaturated Designs
A novel combinatorial criterion, called minimum moment aberration, is proposed for assessing the goodness of nonregular designs and supersaturated designs. The new criterion, which is to sequentially minimize the power moments of the number of coincidences among runs, is a surrogate with tremendous computational advantages for many statistically justified criteria, such as minimum G2aberration,...
